How Do I Help a Stressed Friend

It’s difficult when we feel the heavy weight of anxiety bearing down on us, but watching a loved one deal with it can be just as hard, It can be tough to know exactly what will help a friend, and how to be that strong person for someone else to lean on, especially when you don’t always feel strong yourself. Here are 4 actionable ways to do just that: 

1. Learn to meditate

A meditation practice offers plenty of benefits, from increased productivity to anxiety relief Sign up for a group meditation class or download a meditation app, this might seem all weird but this truly helps.

2. Being Present and Supportive

   If you’re concerned that someone you know may be dealing with stress, reach out and ask    them how they’re doing. This can not only give you a better idea of what’s going on with them, but will reassure them that you care about them and are thinking about their wellbeing. 


3. Ask them what you can do

Don’t assume you know what someone needs when they are stressed out. They may be looking for practical solutions, or they may just want to vent or even find a distraction from their worries. Instead of rushing to try and solve their problems, ask them for guidance about what you can do.

4. Listen to them if they want to talk.

Sometimes just talking it out can help stress feel more manageable. If your friend or loved one says they want to talk, listen actively to what they have to say. Let them do most of the talking, and resist the urge to jump in or offer suggestions unless they ask you to

again like I said before so many people go through stress, and I pretty sure that you have had a loved one go through stress and sometime you wonder what you can do to help them, and it hard because there not open to tell you what's going on, this is why its important to recognize if there going through stress so you can help them get through it and that why it also important to know when to help a person going in stress.
